On September 11, 2026, Japan’s Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, Kenichiro Ueno, visited the PERKESO Sultan Nazrin Shah Rehabilitation Centre (the “Centre”), established by Malaysia’s Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. PERKESO and Dr. Mohammed Azman, Group CEO of PERKESO, each shared highlights of the Minister’s visit on their official Facebook pages.
During the visit, the Centre presented its advanced initiatives, including Cybernics Treatment using the wearable cyborg HAL, as well as its comprehensive support system designed to facilitate return to work. In interviews with local media, Minister Ueno highly praised the Centre’s large-scale, advanced facilities and operational framework. Referring to the more than 60 HAL units in use at the Centre, he also expressed his hope that HAL would be utilized at more facilities in the future, enabling more people to benefit from the technology. Minister Ueno further expressed his expectations for deeper cooperation between Japan and Malaysia in areas including technology, expertise, and human resource development.
The Centre provides an integrated range of services, combining medical care and rehabilitation that fuse advanced neurorobotics and Cybernics with vocational training and employment support. As announced by CYBERDYNE on June 17, 2026, the Centre has introduced Cybernics products including HAL Lower Limb Type, HAL Single Joint Type, and HAL Lumbar Type. With the world’s largest number of HAL units deployed at a single facility, these systems are now in full-scale operation.
The “Cybernics Medical and Healthcare Innovation” promoted by the Company is expected to serve as a new medical and welfare model that comprehensively supports functional improvement, functional regeneration, employment support, and social participation, based on the core technology of “HCPS Cybernics with Physical AI,” which fuses bio/medical systems with AI-robotics, and information systems.
Through its collaboration with PERKESO, the Company has been working to promote medical care and rehabilitation, as well as support for return to work and social reintegration. The Company will continue to further develop its collaboration with PERKESO and contribute to functional improvement, social participation, and return to work for people in Malaysia and other countries.
