【News】CE Marking to HAL ® for Care Support (Lumbar Type) – the 29th General Assembly of the Japan Medical Congress –

CYBERDYNE Inc. (“the Company”)’s HAL ® for Care Support (Lumbar Type) (also referred to as “the device”) became eligible for CE Marking that attests a product’s conformity to European Machinery Directive, 2006/42/EC (*1). The Company can distribute and sell the device with CE Marking in European nursing care markets, which face aging society with fewer children as well as Japan. The device operates using Cybernic Voluntary Control (CVC)(*2) system as well as other HAL® series devices and assists a wearer’s motion as intended. Consequently the device reduces burden on the wearer’s waist and mitigates the risk of lumbar pain.

In prior to CE Marking, the device received Certificate of ISO 13482: 2014(*3) “Robots and robotic devices — Safety requirements for personal care robots” for the first time in the world as a wearable robot for a worker In November 2014.

The Company will exhibit the device, HAL ® for Care Support (Lumbar Type) with CE Marking together with other advanced medical devices being developed by the Company under the title “the leading edge functional regeneration medicine with robotic technologies” in the 29th General Assembly of the Japan Medical Congress this week.
