〜Combining Cybernics and Insurance to accelerate the Cybernic Revolution〜

CYBERDYNE, Inc. (the “Company”) has signed a business collaboration agreement with AIG Japan Holdings Kabushiki Kaisha (Head office: Tokyo, Japan, hereinafter referred to as “AIG Japan”) to collaborate in the field of general insurance.

By combining the Company’s strength of innovative Cybernic technologies with AIG Japan’s strength in applying its globally accumulated knowledge in the development of its products and services, the Company and AIG Japan will develop and create businesses that seek to maintain, improve and promote the health of all people and accelerate the “Cybernic revolution” in the insurance industry.  

The Company continues its endeavors toward the realization of a “Zero Intensive Nursing-care Society”, aiming to provide solutions to the problems society faces while simultaneously establishing a firm economic cycle by developing and implementing innovative products and services in various fields such as medicine, living support and labor support. AIG Japan’s ACTIVE CARE concept includes using its globally accumulated knowledge in conjunction with new or emerging technologies to better identify and mitigate risk, so that they can help customers accurately identify and prepare for both known and potential unseen risks they may face. This business alliance is a result of the two companies sharing a common vision, leading the way for “Society 5.0”, a concept promoted by the Japanese government that represents a super smart human centric society.

The Company and AIG Japan’s alliance will open up the possibility of collaboration between the two companies in many ways, such as working together to develop and sell new general insurance products that include the use of the Company’s Cybernic technologies as well as introducing each other’s products and services to customers. Furthermore, beginning with this collaboration, the Company will aim to collaborate with AIG Group to further spread its Cybernic technology across the globe.

The Company also entered into a business alliance with Daido Life Insurance Company in September 2016 in the field of life insurance and, under the premise of approval by relevant authorities, the two companies will collaborate together to develop a new insurance product for treatment of certain diseases using HAL for Medical Use (Lower Limb Type) that will reduce the treatment fee for patients. By collaborating with leading companies in the fields of life insurance and general insurance, the Company hopes to advance a Cybernics revolution in the insurance industry towards the realization of a “Zero Intensive Nursing-care Society” and “Society 5.0”, where people can properly prepare for and actively reduce risks in the fields of medicine, living support and labor support, and benefit society as a whole.
