CYBERDYNE announced to export eight units of Medical HAL to Saudi Arabia,pursuant to a medical device approval for the device from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (the “SFDA”) in August 2017. These are initial units to commence Cybernic Treatment in Saudi Arabia. Abdul Latif Jameel Hospital (“ALJ Hospital”), a hospital owned by the Company’s business partner, Abdul Latif Jameel (ALJ), will provide the treatment with the device,
Medical staff of ALJ hospital have completed their operational training at the Company’s subsidiary, Cyberdyne Care Robotics GmbH in Germany. Cybernic Treatment with Medical HAL in Saudi Arabia is expected to begin within this month.
Furthermore, the government representative of Japan will present this project as an example of the Japanese medicine and healthcare industry’s contribution to relevant fields in Saudi Arabia as Japan’s part of “Saudi Japan Vision 2030” at the Saudi Arabia- Japan Business Council Meeting on October 9, 2017 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
