Preparations for Malaysia’s National Neuro-Robotics and Cybernics Rehabilitation Centre Progresses
~KESUMA Minister expressed his intention to introduce HAL on a large scale~

CYBERDYNE Inc. (Tsukuba, Ibaraki; President & CEO: Yoshiyuki Sankai, the “Company”) held a top-level meeting with The Minister of Human Resource (Malay: Kementerian Sumber Manusia, “KESUMA”) and other members of the Malaysian government on May 23, 2024 at its headquarters towards the dissemination of Cybernics Technology in Malaysia.

1.Outline of the top-level meeting
Some of the participants of this meeting were KESUMA Minister Mr. Steven Sim Chee Keong, KESUMA Secretary General Dato’ Sri Khairul Dzaimee Bin Daud, and Group CEO of Malaysian Social Security Organization (Malay: Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial, “PERKESO”) Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohammed Azman Bin Dato’ Aziz Mohammed. The Minister, Mr. Steven Sim Chee Keong, announced his intention to implement 50 sets of HAL (65 units) and various other Cybernics products at the PERKESO National Neuro-Robotics and Cybernics Rehabilitation Centre in Perak Ipoh, which is scheduled for service at the end of 2024. This is expected to be the largest installation in a single facility.

Since PERKESO introduced HAL for the first time in Southeast Asia in 2018, the Company, the Malaysian government, and PERKESO have been working in close collaboration to promote the spread of Cybernics Treatment. This joint effort has resulted in the provision of Cybernics Treatment at no cost to patients through the public social security system provided by PERKESO. As of March 31, 2024, 114 HAL units are in operation at 12 facilities in Malaysia, a testament to the success of this partnership.

Building on its achievements, PERKESO has announced the construction of the PERKESO National Neuro-Robotics and Cybernics Rehabilitation Centre, the largest medical complex in Southeast Asia, which will be named after the facility “Cybernics” and is currently under construction in 2022. The first phase of the center’s project is planned to cover 15.6 hectares (the equivalent of 3.4 baseball stadiums), with a total floor space of approximately 86,400 square meters and a capacity to accommodate 700 patients at any given time.

2.Prospects
Based on the results of this meeting, the Company plan to continue discussions with PERKESO regarding the introduction of Cybernics products. The impact on the business results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025 is under scrutiny, and information will be disclosed promptly in the event of any events that should be disclosed in the future.
