【IR】Notice of contract with the Malaysian Social Security Organization for Cybernics products ~ Large-scale installation at the National Neuro-Robotics and Cybernics Rehabilitation Centre ~

CYBERDYNE Inc. (Tsukuba, Ibaraki; President & CEO: Yoshiyuki Sankai, the “Company”) has signed a rental contract with the Malaysian Social Security Organization (Malay: Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial, “PERKESO”) for 50 sets of HAL (65 units) on 4th December 2024 The products will be gradually rented out starting from December 2024.

3. Background of the order
Since PERKESO introduced HAL for the first time in Southeast Asia in 2018, the Company, the Malaysian government, and PERKESO have been working in close collaboration to promote the spread of Cybernics Treatment. Due to this joint effort, the patients of Malaysia can now receive Cybernics Treatment at no cost through the public social security system provided by PERKESO. As of the end of September 2024, 119 HAL units are in operation at 13 facilities in Malaysia, a testament to the success of this partnership.
Building on its achievements, PERKESO has announced the construction of the PERKESO National Neuro-Robotics and Cybernics Rehabilitation Centre, the largest medical complex in Southeast Asia, which will be named after the facility “Cybernics” and is currently under construction in 2022. The first phase of the center’s project is planned to cover 15.6 hectares, with a total floor space of approximately 86,400 square meters and a capacity to accommodate 700 patients at any given time.
In May 2024, the Company held a top-level meeting with The Minister of Human Resource (Malay: Kementerian Sumber Manusia, “KESUMA”) and other members of the Malaysian government at its headquarters towards disseminating Cybernics Technology in Malaysia. At the meeting, the Minister announced his intention to implement 50 sets of HAL (65 units) and various other Cybernics products at the PERKESO National Neuro-Robotics and Cybernics Rehabilitation Centre in Perak Ipoh. This is expected to be the largest installation in a single facility.
As the date of opening of the National Center for Neuro-Robotics, Cybernics and Rehabilitation was announced to be January 2025, the Company and PERKESO finalized the contract to commence renting of various products from December 2024. By entering into this agreement, CYBERDYNE will contribute to the further spread of Cybernics Treatment and the development of social security in Malaysia.
