Kanagawa Prefecture dispatched a delegation consisting of Kanagawa Prefecture companies and others in the life science field based on a memorandum of understanding with the National University of Singapore and the University Health System regarding cooperation in the life science field. On July 19, the delegation visited Singapore General Hospital, the country’s largest medical institution that has installed HAL, and received an explanation of the hospital group’s innovation case studies, the effects of HAL Treatment, and the improvement of operational efficiency. The participants then discussed the “ME-BYO” initiatives promoted by Kanagawa Prefecture. ME-BYO is a state of constant transition that cannot be strictly categorized as being either healthy or sick, and according to this concept, initiatives that are trying to approach various diseases while it is still in ME-BYO are promoted. They also toured the facility where the treatment is actually being conducted.
A related event was held simultaneously, and Governor Kuroiwa of Kanagawa Prefecture delivered an opening address.
