【News】(Preliminary Report) Operating number of HAL® (Lumbar Type) continues to increase steadily – forecast of increasing number of operating units in the year to follow as Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare included HAL® for Care Support (Lumbar Type) in a subsidy program for welfare facilities for installation of robotic devices in tandem with growing needs for HAL® for Labor Support (Lumbar Type)

CYBERDYNE, Inc. (the “Company”) announces that 339 units of HAL® for Care Support (Lumbar Type) as well as HAL® for Labor Support (Lumbar Type) started to operate within the nine-month period ending March 31, 2016, exceeding well over the initial estimate of 180 units in operation, within the whole fiscal year. Further, as of December 31, 2015 there were 428 units overall in operation and the number continues to grow steadily.
To note, in the nine-month period, ended December 31, 2015, there were steady growth in the operating units of HAL® for Labor Support (Lumbar Type) as a solution to improve the work environment in distribution, warehousing, construction and manufacturing sites which suffer from lack of labor force.

Further, HAL® for Care Support (Lumbar Type) was included in the “subsidy project for assisting welfare facilities with installation of robotic devices for care support” (Total fund of JPY52 billion), which is part of supplementary budget of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfares, year 2015, enacted in January 20, 2016. As such significant increase in number of operating HAL® for Care Support (Lumbar Type) can be expected.
